1917 Dollar Note Legal Tender

For your consideration is this 1917 two dollar note, it has clearly been used in the past , folded and stored in an old pocket at one time. It must have some totally awesome history behind it, i found it stored in a drawer many years ago and has been stored in a safe for the last 20 plus years. I took good pictures as I am no expert of the subject so please feel free to ask questions before purchasing and thank you for your time.
