Circulated Copper Irish Half Pennies
, with the Irish harp, on the obverse side, and an Irish mother pig, and her 5 piglets, on the reverse side.  About the size of a U.S. Presidential or Susan B. Anthony dollar.

Dates range from 1942 to 1967
, and grades range from Fine and Fine to Very Fine to almost Uncirculated w luster.  Irish Half Pennies are much scarcer than Irish Pennies.
Year of the Pig.
This denomination was issued in Ireland from 1928, not every year, but as required by economic necessity, until the last year of 1967.  Two half pennies = 1 penny.  12 pennies = 1 shilling.  20 shillings = 1 pound.  Thus, 480 half pennies or 1/2d = 1 pound.
The design is by Percy Metcalf, and the initials, "P.M.," can be found beneath the base line to the pigs at the right.
I currently have the following inventory of circulated Irish half pennies, carefully sorted for date and grade, with the culls removed.  The main photo shows 100 coins.
