Description

This is a brand new  "STARTREX" high torque geared starter.  This will fit all models of the classic Series II, IIA or III Land Rover made between 1958 and 1983 generally similar the the Series IIA model illustrated and fitted with four cylinder petrol (gasoline) engine.  The starter replace all models of the inefficient English LUCAS inertia starters that were originally fitted to these vehicles.
The STARTREX starter pre-engages with the ring gear before power is applied and generates torque to spin the engine in the coldest temperatures. The unit is extremely compact and fits easily in the space between the exhaust down pipe and the mounting face making fitting and removal easy without loosening the exhaust pipe from the manifold.
The starter readily connects to the pre-1963 vehicles with firewall mounted push switches and to the later key driven systems. Connecting wiring needed is included.
