What does this do? Basically; it allows your power tool (router, die grinder, CNC machine,
high speed drill, etc.) to simulate being an extra powerful Dremel tool. Chuck the adapter in and presto; you can use most of your Dremel adapters, collets, chucks, and bits!
Have you ever used your die grinder (air or battery) and really wanted to use a few of your Dremel bits on it? Unfortunately, your power tool can only accept a 1/4 inch tools, and most Dremel bits are 1/8 inch shanks. I had this same problem; and after a few weeks worth of frustration I decided that with my machining abilities, I should be able to produce a solution and work around.
Well here it is; one end is a 1/4 inch rod; which chucks beautifully into any device which can hold a 1/4 inch tool, such as my Milwaukee M12 die grinder's collet. The other end is threaded and bored out to replicate the business end of a common Dremel tool spindle.
Success! The end result is that I can use my Dremel tools and bits on my die grinder with virtually no hassle. I have the Dremel precision chuck on my tool and can quickly swap between bits without the use of tools. I can swap out bits in less than 10 seconds using just my bare hands! That's exactly what I was going for when I made the adapter and am very happy with its functionality. I figure I can't be the only one that has this need; and that others out there may wish to purchase an adapter or two.
Things to note! The tool works with both the standard collet system that comes with virtually all Dremel tools as well as the precision 3 jaw chuck. This can be seen in the photos. Yes, you can use your more powerful tools (such as my Milwaukee m12 Die Grinder for example). All the precision bits, and cutters are now accessible to your more powerful tools. I used this adapter in the aforementioned Die Grinder to use my precision saw blades to cut up Kydex for my other items. I then used my variety of sanding, grinding, and buffing tools as well. Additonally, I used this adapter in my Shaper Origin router to use my various burrs and engraving bits without issue! Basically turns a power tool into a super powerful Dremel tool.
And finally, it shouldn't need to be said, but I'll say it anyway.
The only thing for sale in this listing is the threaded metal adapter rod. All of the collets, chucks, Dremel bits and my die grinder are simply there for illustrative purposes.
Also, it seems to be a point of confusion, but this is for allowing power tools to use your collection of Dremel type bits. The adapter DOES NOT to allow your Dremel tool to use bigger bits...thats would be my Dremel Mega Chuck which can be found here:
