This listing is for a set of two salad plates in the
"Under The Sea"
design, pattern #2487. The stoneware plates, which measure 8" in diameter, were manufactured by
Tienshan
. The pattern has since been discontinued.
These plates feature; blue waves, coral, multicolored fish along the rim, and a fish center.
The plates were manufactured both with a fish center, and without. The fish center plates are extremely scarce with very few pieces in circulation.
THE MAIN COURSE
You'll find these salad plates to be,
at worst
, in near-mint condition with only
extremely
minimal and infinitesimal surface wear.
(If I see even a single utensil mark or the most insignificant scratch, I won't list an item as mint).
Any
utensil mark or scratch that may exist, is "clean" and not the dingy gray scuff marks that are commonly found on stoneware - the background is pure white. T
he décor is pristine, t
he colors are vivid with no fading or discoloration, and the glaze shines like new. Additionally, all of the plates are completely free of, cracks, chips, nicks, crazing, stains, repairs, permanent hard water deposits, and detergent residue.
These salad plates are in
far better
condition than what is typically considered to be "excellent" or "gently used".
